Happy Happy Happy!!! It is the last Monday of our 10 hour work week schedule!!! Let the countdown begin… 4 – 10 hour days to complete!
I had such a busy and productive weekend with my hubby. We spent the whole weekend working on projects together.
First we started on stripping and refinishing a wooden storage bench that we got from a neighbor. (I started peeling the paint off a few weeks ago) Michael got some stuff that helps remove latex paint but it just wasn’t getting the job done, so we loaded up the little ones and headed to Wal-Mart. We picked up some odds and ends and I saw the replacement spray nozzle and hose that we needed to fix the kitchen sink and headed back home. I was so excited about the spray nozzle fixed that I started on it as soon as we got home. I figured this would be a breeze, 10 min tops and we could get back to the bench. We spent 2 and a half hours trying to figure out why it was still leaking under the sink after we replaced it. Maybe we needed more of the plumbers tape? Out of frustration we decided that maybe we should take the kids and go get some groceries and a pizza (since I couldn’t use my sink I was not cooking) and we could pick up the Teflon tape at Publix. NOTE: PUBLIX DOESN’T CARRY TEFLON TAPE… So we go home eat with the kids and get started on the bench again. The sink will have to wait till Sunday…
The new stripper spray worked great, you spray it on and wait 10 min and when you come back the paint is all bubbly. It was such and icky sticky mess… so we switched to the sander that worked the best out of all 3 things. We got about half done but It was getting late and the mosquitoes came out when the sun went down so we called it quits on the bench. Time for a shower, some Smirnoff and cuddle time in front of the TV.
Sunday morning we decided to get the front yard taken care of (weeding and trimming). After lunch Michael goes out to get the Teflon tape and we work for almost 1 hour and it is still leaking!!! (Gotta run, be back later for the rest of the post)
